Costume Week

This was a busy past 2 weeks for little Mackenzie. On the weekend of 20th, we went to a pumpkin patch on El Camino in Sunnyvale.






On Friday, Oct 2, went to Lemos in Half Moon Bay, where they had a little pumpkin patch, pet feeding, train ride, and other fun activities.

Then we went to the pumpkin patch where Mackenzie made the final call on which pumpkins to go with.















Then on Saturday, Oct 27th, we had the Harvest Festival at our church. Here you see Piglet (Mackenzie) hanging out with friends, Elmo (Ashley) and Chicken (Ethan).

Piglet also met up with giant Pooh here at the festival. It looks like Pooh has been taking Bear Growth Hormones here as he stands 6ft tall compared to 2ft for Piglet.

And here Piglet meets her 8-armed friend, Miss Octopus (Elenora).

Sunday, we went to a friend's to carve our pumpkins. While parents did the carving, Mackenzie decided to kick back here on a bench with her pumpkin.

Then finally, on Halloween night, we had the Chang kids over to go trick or treatin'. The kids had a blast in their costumes. Here, we see Piglet (Mackenzie) with Ladybug (Kylie), Monkey (Jace) and Lion (Ryland).

"Yao Yao Toe"

Baby Mackenzie and Daddy learned some new chinese words last night with Grandma and Grandpa via video conferencing. Here is MJ demonstrating what "Yao Yao Toe" means (Shake Your Head).

Mini-Vacation to Oregon

This past weekend, the Wongs took their first family trip. Disneyland? Nah...Mackenzie's too young. Hawaii? Hmm....not ready to brave the 5-hour flight yet. So we decided to go to Oregon. What's there you may ask. We heard from a friend about a gorgeous little coastal town called Cannon Beach in Oregon. It was a quaint little town where it was basically just one main street, Hemlock that served as downtown. There were cute toy stores, art & gallery shops, good restaurants. If you are looking for a Starbucks at the corner, you're not going to find it here.

The picture on the right is taken at Cannon Beach. The rock is called, Haystack Rock (because of it's shape).

We also went to take a look at Multnomah Falls, which is the 2nd tallest year-round waterfall in the nation.














All of this made for a very nice and relaxing mini-vacation. Mackenzie had a blast, and she was very good throughout the trip. Mom and Dad had to improvise a few times....like providing entertainment for her while waiting for our flight at the airport, giving her a bath with the available resources, and hotel room games. Can't wait until our next vacation!

Mackenzie is now 8months old and loves her new toy, Counting Pal. She has two teeth coming out on the bottom and we're starting to see signs of her two front teeth as well!

Where Mackenzie Got Her Smile?

Camera Shy?

Mackenzie is now a week past being 7mos old and she's crawling, sitting up and pulling herself up among her many new skills. Here I tested her on the 5 feet dash to see how quickly she can make it to the camera. She's not camera shy, that's for sure.

Mackenzie was a little shy at first but then starting warming up to Auntie Lola pretty quickly.

Last Saturday afternoon, we went to visit the Takeshita's out in Dublin. Mackenzie quickly became enamored with baby Megan's bumbo seat.

The Chens Visit

The Chens...this past weekend the Chens came by to visit. Mackenzie was happy to meet Courtney and Haley, and is looking forward to future playdates.

Hmm....It's a lot of works to have twins...we'll stick to smoke and mirrors at this point to have our set of twin Mackenzies.

MJ & The Gumball Machine

MJ's now 6mos old! Following directions, mommy and daddy opened up the gumball machine marked "for ages 6mos and up". She went right at it and figured out that it was the lever that released the gumballs. Putting the gumballs back up at the top is for her to figure out another day.

Just a little over 6mos old and Mackenzie now is sitting up....

Mackenzie's been sleeping through the night, but if you ask mom, it's because I'm not waking up. Actually, she's been good. She's does on occasion have some nights where she doesn't go down. This video shows her up (although you can't see her because the lights are up, but you can here her) during the midnight hour. Mommy is trying to shush her to sleep but Mackenzie just wants to play.

In one corner, standing at 26inches, 16lbs and 6mos, Mackenzie. In the other corner, standing at close to 26inches, 16inches and only 3mos, Andrew Ching! Oh man! What a big boy!
